Seward, Alaska Selected As Host Site for 2nd Presidential Debate - Sunny Cove Kayaking To Sponsor
2024 is an election year which can be a stressful time for many Americans, but we have an exciting announcement regarding this upcoming election season. With a rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump officially confirmed, locations have been vetted for possible presidential debate locations and we are thrilled to announce that Seward, Alaska has been chosen as the location for the 2nd presidential debate and Sunny Cove Kayaking will be an official sponsor of that debate!
When the election occurs, Joe Biden will be 81 years old and Donald Trump will only be three years behind him at 78. There have been several concerns thrown out there about the fitness level of two older men running for arguably the most powerful position in the world. To prove both their physical and mental fitness to prospective voters, both men have agreed to kayak the coast of Resurrection Bay in the hours leading up to the debate to prove to the voters they have the mental acumen to handle tough questions after a physical day on the water.
As soon as this debate format was scheduled, the campaigns for both men came out swinging. Donald Trump's campaign released a statement stating, "Sleepy Joe Biden won't even make it to the debate. His kayak skills are badly at best and he will be blown out to sea." Joe Biden's campaign responded with, "Eating Big Macs everyday isn't the best recipe for success for this type of challenge. We sure hope Donald doesn't weigh down his kayak to the point it sinks."
Seward, Alaska was chosen for this challenge because the guides at Sunny Cove Kayaking were recently voted the best guides in the world in the most recent "2024 Best Guides In The World" survey administered by Sunny Cove ownership to Sunny Cove Staff. To ease everyone's concerns about the political firestorm that is about to descend upon Seward, Sunny Cove Kayaking owner Stephanie Millane released this statement to the public.
"I have the utmost confidence in our guides to successfully bring these older gentlemen to the debate stage. Our guides are Wilderness First Responders who have experience paddling with guests of all ages. We hope this challenge will force these two men from opposing political sides to work together in a way that is inspiring for all Americans. Sunny Cove is about bringing people together in a beautiful location and if these two men cannot find some common ground in that, we plan to force them to paddle a tandem kayak together for their return journey to shore."
The "Presidential Paddle" as it has been dubbed, will be live streamed and broadcast on all major social media outlets at a date to be determined.
